Book Bands for Guided Reading


The following table shows how Ransom's series of books for struggling readers fit with the recognised Book Bands for Guided Reading levels.

You can also download a spreadsheet version.

The recognised/published IOE book band criteria have been applied in all cases; but these critieria are designed for mainstream reading books, not high interest age/low reading age.

Therefore some interpretation and judgement has had to be applied, in banding the Ransom range. Nonetheless, this table gives a good indication of where the Ransom series fit. Furthermore, as the same judgements/interpretations have been applied consistently across the Ransom range, this table also shows, with accuracy, where one series fits in relation to another.
